* Content *

This part of your web marketing project will take four days and should be considered mandatory

Search engines have learned to read content and to rank it higher than html coding.

Coding is still important, But, it is secondary and must be harmonized with content (and link popularity) to rank a page to its maximum.

Most of us have heard about RSS for a few years now. But, most of us also ignored it and its importance to our internet marketing efforts. We paid dearly for this oversight.

RSS importance comes from the concept of dynamic web sites and web pages versus static web sites and web pages. A static page is one on which the content stays the same forever as it was the day it was written.

Search engines like to see dynamic pages because they feel they can assume that this is a web site and web page wherein the owners are proactively involved in providing the freshest content for their visitors.

Since the search engines are always trying to provide their clients with the freshest content, they value a dynamic page considerably more than they do a static page.

And, since the internet is all about soooo many new and dynamic sites, web owners must give them what they want.

What RSS does is that it gives the web owners fresh new content daily without ever having to write a single word.

Unless you can write new content every day, you must import it.

RSS Feeds match up to your web site subject matter thus creating new, fresh, daily content that is a logical extension to the content on your page. This causes the major search engines to revisit that page more often because they know they will find fresher content than even the day before.

So, in creating our sites and all new sites while this process is still highly in vogue, we have structured into our web project agenda an RSS feed into each one of them and encourage you to do the same.

A) We use Yahoo RSS Feeds because they offer the widest range of feeds of virtually every subject. Remember: we like to keep it simple.
You can access free Yahoo RSS Feeds here

Okay, now.....

B) RSS Reader / Aggregator. Now, the techie part.

Let's say that you put one on your site with the normal RSS Reader / agregator. You will get one feed. Your site will be spidered to your own content and that one feed... good, bad, or ugly.

And, while it normally increases the value of your page, it is spidered and cached in the search engine files to the material of that one page

If it was a great feed on that day, you win. If it were a bad feed... you win a lot less. But, you always win somewhat.

The idea is to win a lot!

Your site is competing with a whole world in which your main key words may be present on four of five or more million web sites.

Worse, if your site and ten or twenty thousand other sites have the same feed, then, the primary advantage of having your RSS feed is lost even though it is still better than no feed at all.

In our search for that extra edge, we came across a neat little program called Power RSS.

Power RSS is the software brainchild of RSS guru Adrian Ling whom I am pleased to say I have known for several years. And, that's important as you will come to realize as you move forward with your internet marketing career.

Always align yourself to the best of the best. It will save you time, effort, and money in the long run. And these people will always keep you ahead of the pack.

What we are able to do with Power RSS that just isn't available from anyone else is not only to get Yahoo's freshest new content daily, but... we are able to get multiple streams of Yahoo's  freshest new RSS content targeted to the content of our page.

So, if the search engines like new content, they like a lot of new content even better.

Better: This neat little piece of software not only grabs several streams of RSS feeds, it randomizes the feeds so that even if others are using the same software, the content on competing pages is not exactly the same, so the search engines can rank them all separately and much higher than sites with just the one feed that is itself identical to thousands of others. Neat, huh?

Plus, when the day is over, we don't lose any of that freshest new content.   Power RSS grabs that latest copy at the end of the day and archives it fully automatically for us in the web site folder online thereby beginning a growing list of high quality content, highly relevant doorway pages for the search engines to relate highest value to our site. Search engines like this a heck of a lot better than the typical doorway or directory pages.

And, that means, more high quality, highly targeted traffic... and more sales.

One more critically important thing: As most of my readers know, I am not a techie. Fortunately, we (Lucy and I) were able to turn over the installation of the Power RSS directly to its creator, Adrian Ling. And, truly, within one day, he had installed it and had it banging out my RSS Feeds daily and archiving them into a site directory.

Now, since I value my time and set four day time frames on each task within a web project, Adrian always has the software installed perfectly in just a day. Not bad for about $30, huh?

Is this awesome help because we are John David and Lucy Bouthillier? No! Adrian is just that kind of guy. And, he is the kind of guy you should want to know to help ensure your own online career.

Throughout this site I mention several people by name. Since we are people-first people, we place great stock in how our mentors relate to us as being how they will also relate to our visitors. We hope that makes sense. It has worked for us. And, these men and women will work for you, too.

Okay. Before you jump forward onto your next part of your web project and through the next link, do this RSS Feed and get it up and running within the next four days. That's totally doable. Do it, If you need help or value your time as better than $30 in four days, ask Adrian to do it. And, come back to ProShop in four days.

Got a question or need help with your online business? Just scream, yell, and holler.
